Alright, since NG won't allow me to post my AI assisted artwork, I'll be posting it here on my feed.

So I trained/mixed a model/ink in stable diffusion of my OC. I worked my ass off to get this far. The tool is really good at random things. But to get something specific, You gotta fight it with everything you got. The more I used the tool the more I realised there is no AI, It's merely a smart library. Nonetheless, I'm a happy camper. Gone are the days when artists of old curate rocks and plants to make their own ink. We've gone digital, We can create our digital inks now. I'm here to enlighten people. There are nuance to this. I am one of those nuance. Sadly, i get dismissed along with the posers. People have gone scorched earth with the AI art stuff. And I don't think that is healthy either.

Most people are angry with the tool and people using the tool without knowing anything about it. Never used it or even got near it. Why judge something you barely understand right? People got caught up with the drama. It's a sad state of affairs.

The issue is when people use other artists work to feed the algorithms to make "art". If you are feeding your own art and style into it then I think it can be a useful tool to help an artist. My issue with this piece you've shared is that it looks very similar to a lot of other AI art I've seen. I'm not saying you are stealing it could just be this is how the AI interprets art, but then where is the originality in this? I follow so many different artists including you for all of their various art styles they've created.
I'd hate to see all of those styles go away and look very similar because of how an AI interprets their input.
Anyways I hope you are doing well, don't let hate stop you from experimenting. <3

Styles depend on the model/ink. If people are using the same model/inks for their mix, there will be similarities. It's only a matter of content saturation , it's not neccesarily caused by AI tool. Even humans copy each other. Look at anime and manga, they all look similar. Although it is possible to create a unique style in this new medium. It really depends on the artist's vision. Nonetheless, This is very close to my own style if you look at my past works. Tool simply gave it some extra kick.

I absolutely agree with you that no one really has a healthy mindset with AI Tools. Both those who are vehemently against it and those that are overly for it. I think the reason so many artists were so against it is because they saw what ordinary people could do with it and looked at it as something that would replace their job. Much like candle makers and the light bulb, they thought it would render their job obsolete when that is clearly not the case. The piece itself is still quite good but I imagine getting some of the stuff to be as accurate as it is to your past work must have been a troublesome task. I've tried bringing concepts to life with mixed results because what I had asked was perhaps too specific and it can't quite handle that very well. Not without a firm talking to at least. Now there's an entire career to be made for people who craft good prompts based on what people are generally looking for. But I have also seen people misuse it by taking an image and training the AI to trace it rather than make a deviation of it. The tool ends up taking the blame rather than the person using it. Like any tool, it can be used for good and bad depending on how it used. Like a sickle can be used to cut down weeds but also bring people harm when used differently. I think AI art can be utilized to help string together concepts and be used to test out old ideas to see if it can be translated differently. I think your piece here exemplifies that nicely. I can understand newgrounds being against it given its history of traditionally made art being made by everyone anywhere. However I don't think it should be heavily excluded in the manner it has. But I understand wanting this platform to be clean of any spam that can come of including it or instances where stolen art is uploaded which has happened quite frequently on this platform. I've seen it personally with entire animation videos being re-uploaded by people. You have done a great job really capturing the energy of the original that this piece was trained on, really makes the space she is in cold while keeping the character alive and well.

Tnx. I am happy to see that there's still open minded people here. As my first hand experience, there will be no job loss for artists, especially in animation. 2 two types of jobs in mind. Model trainer, and Image curator. Atleast that is my initial assessment, there could be more new type of jobs in the future. I plan to make a video about it soon.

@Dakzky I look forward to it.

@Dakzky Thanks for the reply and clarification. I better understand why the AI art I've been seeing has a similar look to this. Hope I didn't come off as being against AI art. I do believe if used properly this can be an amazing tool to help artists. <3

Yeah, I got the same feedback even before AI. Some people said mine was similar to Calm's and cyberunique's styles. Admittedly, they were my inspirations, so I "tried" to copy them lol

nice to see you alive and still active :D

yeah, doing stuff quietly.

(since i cant edit my comment)
also loved the stuff you did for MnF (VadimGOD's works) :3

@Dakzky good to know!

Yeah, I understand or atlest I try. Personally I am not an artist but I admire and respect their work. I myself, prefere the art made by an human, not an machine. It feels more personal, more intimate I might say. It allows me to try to feel the artist intentions, admire every stroke of brush. I know, I know some people do not have the time to admire the product from both the big picture and in detail.

Art is not just the finish product, even if some people forget that, it is an entire process, it means talent. I get that you have to understand how to use this technology and that this process implies some steps, but it does not feel the same as a piece made by a human, It looks and feels too mechanical to me, like operating a crane or a coffee machine. I know, a funny and weird analogy, may not be ideal to make my point. I can not apreciate his or her development if it was not made by that person. I, would dare to say that art made by a human and the one made by a machine it is not the same, even if they may seem, atleast in my opinion. One implies some things and the second other things. I only seek it rarely, only for concepts, for ideas and not for my full, silly doodling. I don't like to call it my art, if the computer made it and I only adjusted some parameters. It is like when you ask someone to do your job and after, you, take the credit. I never liked to do that in every situation I was.
I also understand that this is a new technolgy and people are impressed by it, I too was impresed, but I soon realised, many years ago the bad turns it may take. Also, an artist inspiring from another artist it is not quite the same as a machine learning it to do from a person, in my opinion.
To me, even the early man that created art made it in a sign of maybe sign reflection and expression not simply decoration for their caves and to attract the admiration of other people.
There are othere tools that makes or the user more involved and not just replaces them.
Also, I will try to continue to support as much as I can the artists that are in the beginning and try to learn how to draw, body and object structure and other things one learns in their art career.
I hope my point was well conveyed and understood. My comment was not made to ill intentions, it was just may way to show support and respect for artists who made our world better and more enjoyable along all this centuries, even many thousand of years I might say.
And, in the end, it remains to reader decision of the readers and the author of this post.

Have a great day guys and everyone who is reading my comment !
